The Job holder will be responsible for all sourcing to contract specificities (sourcing to plan, tender, negotiation and contract setup), commercial risk management, contract management and spend / compliance monitoring.
He/She will be responsible for ensuring that contracts are in place which fulfill the customer requirements whilst also meeting the needs of the business and selecting the right suppliers and anticipate contingent suppliers to manage risk on behalf of the business.
Responsibilities
*. To apply global policies, standards and platforms including the agreed Sourcing Management methodology and approach and to deliver robust terms and conditions that manages clients service delivery and commercial risk.
*. To lead the process of sourcing execution to ensure delivery of the stakeholder requirements and targets
*. To manage negotiation and supplier selection within the framework of any category strategies or sourcing strategies.
*. Provide forecasts on prices and market changes as an input into planning where appropriate
*. Proven capability of applying supplier management techniques to ensure contracted benefits are delivered.
*. Supplier and contract management experience.
*. Detailed understanding of financial evaluation and interpretation of supplier’s records and their key cost and business drivers.
*. Thorough knowledge of supply market, supplier capabilities and competitor activity, and expected trends at a local level.
*. Full understanding of the category total cost model, cost drivers and all factors needed to ensure a robust agreement which include specification and testing requirement
*. Understanding of the processes,timeliness and constraints for the development and delivery of new products.

*. To identify new products and services that may impact on sourcing execution and escalate to the Procurement Manager Operations

Qualifications and experience
*. Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant business discipline Bachelors’ degree in social or behavioural sciences
*. Must have a minimum of 3years sourcing related experience at local level.
*. Professional knowledge of procurement principals, includinghigh order negotiation skills.
*. Sound knowledge of corporate regulations and legislation to ensure the creation of effective group
*. Proven negotiation skills and influencing skills: able to influence business partners and suppliers as well as the ability to be assertive if required to ensure compliance to contract.
*. High level of commercial awareness.
*. CIPS Corporate Diploma in Purchasing and/or membership of The Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply or equivalent country qualification or membership would be an advantage

*. Communicate with Global QA and RHQ on: Potentially serious quality issues / product complaints and Regulatory audits
*. Reviews performance of direct reports and ensures their training, development and motivation in order to meet personal and business objectives.
*. Ensures that key business personnel (Sales, Marketing, and Supply) are trained on Quality / GMP requirements and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications and experience
*. Must have a first degree in Chemistry/chemical engineering or any other related course
*. Masters of science Degree is compulsory
*. A minimum of 10 years experience in quality control/Quality Assurance where 5years is in managerial position and necessarily as Head of Quality in an FMCG
*. Qualification in Quality Systems Management (ISO) and as Internal Auditor
*. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality systems (ISO 9000 Series, SABS Std, E-mark) are non-negotiable
